When it comes to dealing with erectile dysfunction, purchasing medication from a telehealth service like Motivated doesn’t guarantee you’ll get rid of the problem. If you’re not taking the drug the right way, you’re still going to experience some trouble and could put your health at risk at the same time.

Whether you’re using Cialis or generic Viagra, you need to take the drug properly to get the results. That brings us to the focus of this blog post: how to get maximum effect from Cialis. If you’ve popped Cialis once or twice with minimal results, you’re probably doing something wrong.

Below are some tips to help you get the best out of Cialis, overcome erectile dysfunction, and restore your confidence in the bedroom:

  • Take the Right Dose at the Right Time

Cialis is a prescription medication. This means your doctor will recommend what’s ideal for you. Depending on your condition, you’ll be placed on a daily or an “as needed” prescription.

The daily Cialis dose means you’ll take the 2.5mg or 5mg tablet around the same time daily. In contrast, the “as needed” prescription requires taking the 10mg or 20mg pill 30 minutes before sex.

You must stick with your doctor’s recommendations for best results. Don’t try to DIY with Cialis, and more importantly, don’t take more than one tablet a day. You’ll book yourself a trip to side-effects island, and it’s definitely not a fun trip.

That said, don’t expect to have an erection the moment you pop the pill. The effects of Cialis can kick in within an hour, but for some people, it can take longer, delaying up to two hours.

So, give it time. If the drug doesn’t work, no worries—reach out to your doctor. They’ll likely step up your dose.

  • Throw in Some Foreplay

Cialis doesn’t give you an automatic erection. It only helps to relax muscles in the penis and improve blood flow to the area so that it’s easier to have an erection when you’re aroused.

In other words, you have to get in the mood for sex to feel the effects of the drug. That means you and your partner still have some bit of work to do.

You can engage in foreplay or even try mental arousal by imagining sexual scenes and images. The point is to give the drug something to work with.

  • Pair Cialis With a Healthy Living

It’s easy to think that medication is all that matters, but it’s not. Your body has a role to play too. That’s why you must put it in a position that gives Cialis the best environment to function effectively.

Start by ditching alcohol if you consume it. Alcohol can affect circulation and reduce blood flow. As such, it becomes harder to have or maintain an erection when it’s in your system. In the long term, it can also damage your blood vessels. Plus, consuming it before taking Cialis can cause severe side effects.

Tobacco has a similar impact. It can constrict blood vessels, preventing blood from getting to the penis. Smoking can also lead to health conditions, such as heart disease, that increase the chances of developing erectile dysfunction. As such, it’s a habit you want to avoid.

While you’re dropping habits, consider picking up new ones, like exercising. Regular physical activity can improve blood circulation, lower blood pressure, boost testosterone levels, and reduce stress—and all of these are important for better erectile function.

Of course, this doesn’t mean that you have to hit the gym. Even a simple routine like an early morning jog can do wonders for your sex life.

  • Pay Attention to Your Diet

Your daily diet can affect the results you have with Cialis. Fatty meals slow down the absorption of the medication and limit the effects. So, it’s generally not advised to eat them before taking the pill.

Go for a light meal instead. You can also take the drug on an empty stomach. In addition, cut back on the sugar in your diet and avoid beverages like grapefruit juice. Similar to alcohol, grapefruit juice can interact with Cialis and cause serious side effects.

Finally, always drink plenty of water. Water aids blood flow and the absorption of Cialis into your system, so stay hydrated at all times.

  • Get Comfortable and Relaxed in the Bedroom

Sex can trigger different emotions, including nervousness and anxiety. These emotions can affect erectile function and prevent Cialis from working effectively.

Apart from the nerves around sexual activity, personal life experiences can cause psychological problems that make it difficult to get going in the bedroom. Stress and depression are some issues that can arise from life’s events.

Find ways to address these challenges if you have them. Meditation, therapy, and exercise are some ways you can deal with anxiety and depression.

Good sleep can also reduce stress. When you’re more relaxed mentally, the effects of Cialis can easily kick in.

Final Thoughts

For Cialis to work, you need to take it properly. Start by sticking with your doctor’s recommendations. Practising healthy living, eating right, and addressing stress can also make the drug effective.
