Cannabis has been used to treat several ailments for more than 3000 years. However, the food and drug administration has not deemed cannabis safe or effective in treating any medical condition; the substance found in cannabis, known as cannabidiol, has proven beneficial to our health. Cannabis can be found in many forms, and its health benefits are growing daily.

Cannabis contains CBD, a chemical that impacts the brain, making it function much better without giving it a high, along with THC, which has pain-relieving properties. THC and CBD can be extracted through short path distillation. So, rolling your weed on blunt wraps and taking some puffs can benefit your body more than you ever knew.

Some of the health benefits of cannabis include;

Cannabis Improves Lung Capacity

Unlike smoking cigarettes, smoking cannabis doesn’t damage your lungs. A study that was carried out showed that cannabis helps to increase the capacity of the lungs rather than cause any harm to it.

Relief of Chronic Pain

There are so many compounds found in cannabis, and one of them is cannabinoids. Cannabinoids have been linked to providing relief of chronic pain to their chemical makeup. This is why cannabis by-products like medical cannabis are usually used for chronic pain relief.

Helps Lose Weight

Most of the people who smoke a lot of weed are not overweight, and this is because cannabis is linked to aiding your body in regulating insulin while managing caloric intake efficiently.

Prevents Relapse in Surf and Alcohol Addiction

CBD can help people who suffer from drug and alcohol addiction. What CBD does is that it reduces the stress-induced cravings, anxiety, and lack of impulse control that typically causes drug addicts to relapse.

Treats Anxiety Disorders

Most people have used cannabis to deal with their anxiety. CBD in cannabis effectively treats anxiety disorders, panic disorders, social anxiety, and post-traumatic stress disorder. If you suffer from this problem, you should try smoking cannabis and see its effect on you.

Epilepsy

Cannabidiol in cannabis is used to treat two rare, severe, and certain types of epilepsy, namely Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome, which are pretty hard to control with other forms of medication. The CBD drug used to cure this particular form of epilepsy is known as Epidolex.

Helps Cancer Patients

Scientists have shown that cancer patients who take oral cannabinoids can deal with nausea and vomiting caused by chemotherapy. Other studies have shown that smoked cannabis helps to alleviate these particular symptoms.

Further studies showed that cannabinoids could also be used to slow down the growth of cancer and can also be used to kill the cells that cause cancer. However, even if cannabinoids are a safe form of treatment, they are not effective in controlling and curing cancer.

Treating Gastrointestinal Disorders

CBD and other non-psychoactive cannabinoids can effectively prevent and treat GI disorders like irritable bowel syndrome, inflammatory bowel disease, Crohn’s ulcerative colitis, and more. The anti-inflammatory properties found in CBD have been used to prevent gastrointestinal disorders.

Lowers High Blood Pressure

Researchers found out that patients with high blood pressure who consumed cannabis could lower their blood pressure. Cannabis reduces their resting blood pressure and blood pressure after stress tests like mental arithmetic, isometric exercise, and cold pressure tests were carried out.

Manages Pain

Cannabinoids in cannabis reduce pain by altering pain perception pathways in the brain. Cannabis also treats conditions like arthritis, fibromyalgia, endometriosis, and migraine. In some cases, cannabis has been known to replace the long-term use of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs like ibuprofen, which can adversely affect the body.

Sleep Management

Cannabis has a relaxing effect that helps to improve sleep disorders like insomnia. If you want to improve your sleep, make sure you consume cannabis, as it makes your body relax, causing you to fall asleep faster and for long hours.

Conclusion

Cannabis has multiple health benefits, and you need to know the quantity to take so that it can help you fight the conditions listed above and not end up complicating your health. Look into the data above so that you can able to know how to use cannabis to your advantage.
