Matcha green tea has been gaining in popularity for its antioxidant properties. The antioxidants help the body fight against viruses and bacteria, while the matcha powder boosts immune function.
The “best tea for immune system support” is a type of tea that has been proven to help boost the immune system and fight off viruses. The “Anti-Viral Tea + Immune Support tea” is one such example of this.
With the arrival of Fall, it is more important than ever to be mindful of our immune systems and to maintain their strength. Continue to consume twelve different varieties of veggies every day, as well as organic, grass-fed animal and/or veggie proteins, as well as high-quality fruits with low sugar content, such as blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapefruit, and strawberries. Limit your diet of carbs and sugar, as well as alcohol, to avoid inflammation and immune system imbalance. Oh, and get plenty of rest and replenish your body with high-quality filtered water.
Here’s an antiviral and immune-supporting herbal tea that I create for my patients in the clinic and at Simple Health:
Anti-Viral Herbal Tea (loose leaf herbs) — somewhat bittersweet but really delicious!
- 4 oz. elderberry
- 4 tablespoons ginger
- 3 parts peppermint
- 2 tulsi leaves
- 2 teaspoons of clove
- 1 part zest of orange
- a fifth of a yarrow
- licorice root (.25 part)
Pour 2 cups (16 oz) boiling water over 1.5 TBLSP herbs to prepare. Allow 10 to 15 minutes for the herbs and water to steep.
Sig: Drink when you’re feeling calm and relaxed.
The “immune system tea” is a combination of health and wellness. It has herbs that support the immune system, as well as antioxidants that help prevent harmful free radicals from damaging cells in the body.
