How long do you have until your wedding day? If you’re starting to feel anxious about all of the planning details, you’re hardly alone. From ordering flowers to orchestrating the service and reception, wedding planning can be a big source of stress.

Thankfully, with a little more structure and self-care, you can turn wedding planning into a streamlined experience that has you excited rather than tired. Stay with us as we look at a 12-week, pre-wedding wellness roadmap that keeps you calm.

Invest in Better Sleep Habits

When you’re roughly twelve weeks out from your wedding, start setting the tone for healthier habits. Try to be routine about your bedtime, and get at least seven hours of sleep each night. Stay consistent with your sleep habits, too, whether it’s a weekday or weekend.

Limit screentime before bedtime. Turn down the thermostat and dim the lights to create a more restful ambiance. Getting enough sleep can boost your mood and help you feel confident as you approach each wedding planning task.

Focus on Your Diet

When you’re twelve weeks from your big day, make some dietary adjustments, too. After all, a diet loaded with vitamins can give you energy, improve your complexion, and help you stay well.

Aim to introduce more fruits and veggies into each meal or snack. Turn to beans, eggs, and lean meats for protein. And reach for almonds or unprocessed foods when you need a snack.

Along the same lines, make an effort to drink more water. When you’re dehydrated, you can lose focus, feel tired, and get headaches. Carry a reusable water bottle with you so you’re always able to take a drink throughout the day.

Take Care of Your Body

When you’re about two months from your big day, turn your attention to your body. If you’ve neglected exercise for a while, this is the time to reintroduce it into your life. Join a yoga class, use kettlebells, walk over your lunch hour, or go for a hike.

Even just three 30-minute sessions each week can help you look more toned and feel better. You’ll also see your stress levels decline when you’re committed to regular exercise.

You can add breathing exercises to your daily routine, as well. When you wake up or close out the day, take a moment to breathe in deeply, hold your breath, and exhale slowly. These measured exercises can help you stay calm when the pre-wedding jitters take hold.

Simplify Your Routines

Before you know it, you’ll be just one month from your big day. At that point on the timeline, it’s wise to simplify decisions and processes so you don’t feel overwhelmed. Rather than complicating decisions, look for ways to be decisive.

Maybe you need to figure out your dress shoe selection, confirm a skincare appointment, or determine a delivery time for your wedding cake. These are small tasks that can start to pile up quickly. Designate an hour to check these items off your to-do lists so you don’t need to deal with them anymore.

Don’t stray from established routines, either. Be consistent with your sleep and eating habits. But do ease up on your workouts.

Don’t put pressure on yourself to get the most sculpted arms for your wedding day in one month. Instead, do light strength training and established exercise routines. Trying to introduce a new type of workout could pull a muscle or leave you too exhausted.

Stay Calm During the Final Week

Ultimately, the week before your wedding should be one of calm and rest. Stick to your normal bedtime hours and enlist friends to help you with last-minute errands and tasks. Your skin, hair, and mood will all be better when you’re able to stay calm.

Consider investing in a personalized keepsake, too, to provide comfort and honor your special moment. Jewelry, including unique ruby engagement rings, can provide visual splendor that keeps you grounded as your big day approaches. Choose a ring with the symbolism and customization possibilities that will bring you joy.

Don’t forget to embrace solitude, too. Wedding planning can feel chaotic at times, with constant noise and interruptions. Make time for quiet moments where you can sit and catch your breath.

Reflect on what brings you joy. Envision how your wedding day will look and be thankful for all the help getting you to that moment. With even a few small moments of mindfulness, you’ll feel calm and secure.

Prepare for Your Wedding

Planning a wedding can feel like a full-time job, and it can wreak havoc on your health. It’s important to stick with a consistent sleep schedule, eat a nutritious diet, and exercise. Invest in mindfulness activities or keepsakes, too, to put your mind at ease.

With a few smart lifestyle adjustments, you can stay emotionally and physically healthy for your wedding day.
