4 Reasons Why You Should Try Pre-Workouts

When we go to the gym, we always want to be fired up, motivated, and ready to take on an intense workout, right? Unfortunately for us, it doesn’t always happen that way. Sometimes, we go to the gym with less motivation, tiredness, and even lethargy, making us inefficient with our workouts. If you’re constantly experiencing this kind of thing, maybe you need something to boost your energy levels whenever you go to the gym.

Does a thing like that exist? Enter pre-workouts. Experts and veteran fitness instructors recommend pre-workouts to make you stimulated and full of energy before you go to the gym. For example, they are a serious part of a professional bodybuilder’s training routine, making them feel more energetic when lifting weights. But what is a pre-workout, and how does it work?

What is a Pre-Workout?

A pre-workout is any supplement that claims to boost your energy levels before hitting the gym, more commonly as a powder mix. However, it’s important to note that every brand has its formula, meaning no two tubs are the same. Yes, most of the time, you can see the exact ingredients on their labels, such as caffeine, ginkgo Biloba, creatine, etc., but the truth is that there’s always something different in each brand.

Based on a study back in 2019, all of the top 100 commercially available pre-workouts have half of their ingredients the same as each other. However, even though this is the case, their proprietary blends don’t disclose the amount of each ingredient in the formula. So, with all that said, should you take a pre-workout for your workout session? Here are some reasons why you should.

Get Energized Whenever You Need

Having a surge of energy whenever you feel lazy and lethargic, no matter what time of the day, is convenient. For example, if you hit the gym after work, sometimes you feel very tired and unmotivated. However, you don’t have to worry about that anymore since you can freshen up your energy levels with a pre-workout dose. You might even surprise your online powerlifting coach with your sudden burst of power!

This is manageable because of the caffeine present in the formula. However, it can only do so much, so you should do it with the right timing. So this begs the question, when should you drink your pre-workout? The best time possible should be 30 minutes to 1 hour before starting your workout routine. This gives the caffeine time to circulate throughout your system. Sure, you’ll feel a buzz immediately, but your energy levels will surge after 30mins of consumption.

Make Your Workout More Efficient

If you feel unmotivated and tired, even with the best workout routine there is, your body will only get half of the benefits your workout routine has. However, with a pre-workout, you’ll get better focus and energy, making you perform better and longer during your workout routine. Who wouldn’t maximize their output, right?

That said, if you think you’re getting less from your workout routine because of your low energy levels, you should check out the bar bends list of top pre-workout and find one that suits you. Any athlete with the right pre-workout will easily get their fitness goal soon.

Speed Up Fat Loss

As mentioned earlier, any person who has pre-workout in their workout routine will achieve their fitness goals much easier and sooner, including weight loss. If you’re having problems with your weight and want to trim your fat down to your acceptable level, you can do that and more with a pre-workout.

Most pre-workout supplements have ingredients that can help you with fat loss, like caffeine, Yohimbe, etc. Most of these substances have thermogenic effects, making your body more efficient when burning calories. It’s like a helpful tool that makes your metabolism more efficient.

Recover Faster

One of the main reasons why many professional athletes drink pre-workout supplements is that it helps them recover faster after intense physical activity. Every exercise, we tear down our muscle fabrics, making us sore the day after. That said, some pre-workouts have a pump-enhancing ingredient that makes your blood reach your muscles faster, making it recover sooner.

Of course, there’s much more in pre-workouts that can help you recover faster. With all of this good stuff getting to your muscles faster, it can help you recover sooner, so you can go to the gym multiple times a week without worrying about getting too sore. With more time to work out, your fitness goals will soon not be a goal anymore.

Final Words

If you’re feeling constantly lazy and lethargic every time you go to the gym, then trying a pre-workout supplement should be something you should consider. We don’t always feel hyped and pumped whenever we go to the gym. Thus to get that extra energy boost, try a pre-workout today. But of course, consult with your doctor before you do that.
